About Us

Should we not have a vehicle in stock to suit your requirements, we are able to order cars directly from Japan to your specification.  In order to do so, we will require a deposit of £500.00 prior to bidding to show that you fully intend to complete the purchase.  Once received, we will send through details of cars (front and rear photographs, mileage, modifications and expected price) the evening prior to the Auction.  Once a deposit has been paid, if we do not find a car within your required time-frame (to be agreed at the time of deposit placement), we will refund the deposit in full.  We will not bid for a car without a deposit.

The prices we quote are ALL-INCLUSIVE of SVA testing (where applicable), MOT, conversion work, registration, road tax and warranty.  There are NO hidden extras, nor will we try and claim there are.  The price we quote will be the price you pay.

After a successful bid, we will then require a second payment, normally to be cleared within 24-48 hours to pay the Auction house in Japan.  Once paid, the car will be transported to the docks in preparation to be shipped to the UK.  Upon arrival in the UK, a third payment (covering shipping charges, insurance, excise duty and VAT) will be required to release the vehicle from the customs compound.  A fourth and final payment will then be payable upon collection of the car.

The above payment process avoids a large, lump-sum payment, and allows customers to manage their finances more effectively, although we can of course accept one-off payments if required.  All of the payments from stage two through to stage four will be entirely dependant on the purchase price, and will vary from car to car.

For example, to bid for a £4,000.00* car:

A £500.00 deposit will be payable.  We will then require a payment in the region of £2000.00 for the second stage, and a payment in the region of £1,000.00 for the third stage.  A final payment in the region of £500.00 will be made upon collection.

* All prices are approximate and should not be used to form the basis of a purchase

In summary:

1.      A £500.00 deposit to enable us to bid

2.      A second payment to have the car shipped from Japan

3.      A third payment to release the car from the UK customs area.

4.      A fourth payment upon collection of the vehicle.

In terms of delivery times, typically, it takes about 2-4 weeks after a successful bid to transport the car from the Auction House to the docks (although in busy periods, this can take longer dependant on availability), and to have it loaded onto a boat for shipping to the UK.  In terms of transport time, a voyage from Japan to England typically takes between 6-8 weeks.  Once collected from the docks, a car will then take between 2-3 weeks to be converted in accordance with UK law before being made available for collection.  The approximate total time from purchase to collection is therefore in the region of 10-15 weeks.

The above summary is entirely dependant on circumstance, and will vary from car to car, and should not be used to form the basis of a purchase.

Again, in summary:

1.      Approximately 2-4 weeks to be shipped from Japan (although can take longer if availability is limited)

2.      Approximately 6-8 weeks for transportation from Japan to the UK.

3.      Approximately 2-3 weeks for conversion, MOT, registration etc.

4.      Total time, approximately 10-15 weeks.

We are aware that many people are apprehensive about purchasing over the internet, so we are more than happy to meet with prospective purchasers prior to placing a deposit.  If we have any vehicles in stock at that time, we will also where possible demonstrate the car to you.

Please however, ensure that you check your insurance before you purchase a vehicle, as some insurance companies will not insure Japanese Imports, some will only do so if the driver is over a certain age, and some will not accept cars that have been modified.  There are fortunately, plenty of sensible insurers who will cover all of these areas, but you should check that cover can be arranged before committing to the purchase of a vehicle.
